The Beretta 80X Cheetah continues its history of functionality, comfort and style. Retaining the clean, functional design, red-dot readiness, and crisp, consistent trigger pull of Beretta's iconic .380 pistol, the Tactical Desert model features a 1/2"-28 threaded barrel, 15+1 round magazine capacity, and an eye-catching "Tactical Desert"/FDE finish, designed for camouflage in desert or earthy environments.
In the US, unlike Europe, handguns in .380 ACP (aka 9x17mm, 9 short or .380 Auto) are widespread and enjoy a solid reputation. In self-defence, this is certainly also and above all due to the fact that in the US it is possible to use expansive ammunition (which is perfectly logical) and that the performance of these "defence loads" leaves nothing to be desired in terms of power and terminal effectiveness. On the other hand, as far as recreational shooting is concerned, the .380 ACP is seen for what it is, i.e. an inexpensive cartridge but which, when fired in the right gun, provides great satisfaction. And speaking of "right' gun" Daniele Piva, Vice President Business Commercial Market of Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta, said: "After the great success and appreciation it has received since its market launch, the 80X Cheetah range continues to evolve to meet the needs and tastes of the largest number of tactical shooting enthusiasts. This new Tactical Desert version features the same iconic configuration as the M9A3 pistol, making it a tribute to Beretta's history and Italian design, as well as a specific gun built for the tactical and defence needs of the most demanding shooters."

Beretta 80X Cheetah: a compact pistol with full-size character

The 80X Cheetah is a compact pistol designed to guarantee exceptional comfort and optimised balance, ensuring high speed and control, without forgetting the unmistakable Italian design that has always distinguished Beretta's iconic range of firearms. An immediate and intuitive gun: the lightweight Vertec-style aluminum alloy grip guarantees instinctive handling thanks to its low and compact profile, oversized beavertail, skeletonized hammer and Combat-style trigger guard. Further enhancements ensure an even firmer grip: sawtooth cocking serrations are milled on the slide, while the checkering on the front and rear grip has evolved from the original Beretta 84.
The Beretta 80X provides a light, crisp and consistent trigger pull in single and double action. The trigger reset is short and audible, with the option of adjusting the pre-travel to reduce the reset to 1 mm. The trigger assembly components are carefully finished to ensure pull consistency and smoothness. The 80X Cheetah is designed to easily accommodate left-handed shooters: the safety on the frame is ambidextrous with a half-cocked hammer position and the magazine release is reversible.
The 80X Cheetah offers a wide range of customisation options. In addition to interchangeable front sights, the gun has a cover on the slide that can be easily removed to allow a red dot to be mounted, allowing for improved target acquisition accuracy and speed. The 2-slot Picatinny rail also offers the possibility of mounting lights, optoelectronic devices and lasers.
