One of the many things that make the SHOT Show in Las Vegas unique is the remarkable foresight of the laws in force in the US state of Nevada, and the presence of shooting ranges like the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club that make side events like the NSSF's officially sponsored Industry Day at the Range possible. There journalists can test fire hand- and long guns and ammunition. Here is a small taste of what we will see in the coming days in the endless halls of the SHOT Show 2026. Enjoy!
Barrett MRAD Covert in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor, for tactical mobility
Barrett inotrduces the new MRAD Covert rifle designed to facilitate quick transport and deployment of the weapon: thanks to its compact folding stock configuration, the Barrett MRAD Covert effortlessly disassembles to fit into a bag or backpack, allowing for exceptional concealment. Designed for the military, law enforcement and long range shooting enthusiasts, the Barrett MRAD Covert retains all the functionality of a full-size rifle. Chambered in .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor, it has a 17-inch (43.20 mm) barrel and delivers sub 0.85 MOA accuracy.
FN SCAR Next Generation, the rebirth
From FN, the new and much-improved iteration of the SCAR rifle. With more than two dozen upgrades based on consumer feedback and technical analysis of every component, the latest SCAR rifles are fully compatible with forward-venting suppressors, easier to operate and feature significantly lower recoil. Among the upgrades, a lighter hydraulically buffered two-piece bolt carrier, an improved single-stage trigger on carbine models and a new two-stage trigger on the SCAR 20S, fully ambidextrous and customizable controls. Other adaptability features include true AR pistol grip compatibility, three customizable selector levers with 16 possible combinations, multiple stock options, user-changeable barrels, and improved sling mounts. The integrated rail system has M-LOK attachment slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, allowing shooters easy ability to accessorize. The new SCAR has been designed and built for high volume shooting: the manufacturer claims that is has been tested to 16,000 rounds without failure of any major components. The rifle maintains FN’s chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged barrel, steel magazines and monolithic rail. It also includes an updated short-stroke gas piston system with a two-position adjustable gas regulator for improved reliability. The SCAR family will consist of four US consumer versions: the new 16S, 17S and 20S, along with the current SCAR 15P ultra-compact pistol. Options include multiple calibers (5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Blackout) and colors (flat dark earth, black, gray), plus available barrel assemblies, rear stocks and magazines. The rifle comes with a soft case with modular customization inserts, a vertical foregrip, piston removal tool and a locking device.
FN 309 MRD in 9mm, concealed carry comfort
The new FN 309 MRD in 9mm is a polymer-framed and optics-ready pistol with single-action only trigger. The gun has an internal hammer and is designed for comfort in manipulation: it has 25% less slide resistance compared to the FN 509 Tactical pistol, and the magazines, with a capacity of 16 or 20 rounds, are easy loading with 40% lower spring force compared to other firearms in the same class. Barrel is 3.8”/96 mm long. The drift-adjustable polymer sights include an over-molded green fiber-optic front and rounded white accent U-notch rear.
Glock Gen6, the next generation of Glock pistols
New features, improved ergonomic, a better trigger and an extended, more effective grip texture: we had already introduced the latest Glock Gen6 pistols, and at the Industry Day we fired them too. The much-awaited sixth-generation of Glock pistols also has a revolutionary, new optic-ready system, engineered for adaptability and durability with three thin polymer mounting plates that allow various optics to be screwed directly into the slide (RMR and DPP footprints are accepted). Based on user requirements, the ergonomic improvements make the new Glocks even more controllable and comfortable: these include the frame with palm swell, extended thumb rest/gas pedal and enlarged beavertail, and the more aggressively undercut trigger guard. The extended RTF6 grip texture combines the more aggressive RTF2 and the gentler RTF4 patterns for performance and comfort, while the reduced distance from the frame to the trigger allow for a higher grip and easier reach. Front and back slide serrations have been improved too, being now angled deeper into the slide for easier manipulation. Magwell is flared for even faster magazine changes. In the US the Gen6 pistols – that initially include the G17, G19, G45 and G49 models, all in 9mm caliber – are already available.
Mimic Firearms Speed 9, the PCC with “rotating” magazine
If you like Ingenuity, then you might like the Mimic Speed 9 manufactured by Mimic Firearms. At first glance, it's a simple blowback 9x19mm pistol caliber carbine with familiar AR-15 ergonomics and controls. But what set it apart is its “rotating” magazine system using a 60-round tandem magazine – basically, two simple 30-round magazines placed back-to-back which together have the same dimension of a classic AR-15 STANAG magazine for compatibility with existing platforms and operators personal equipment, including mag pouches. This allows for higher-capacity in a shorter magazine. After firing the first 30 rounds, to reload the gun you just have to reverse, i.e. flip the magazine 180 degrees. (The upper receiver has a device that prevents the rear magazine jamming holding down the round.) The magazine is proprietary of course, as is the gun's magwell. The Mimic Speed 9 is available in different versions and variants with 5.5-inch, 8.5-inch or 16-inch barrel, and different color options. The PCC accepts standard AR triggers, safeties, and charging handles. The Mimic Speed 9 should enter production toward the end of Q1 2026 and price in the US for the standard basic model starts at $1,799.

.44 Magnum Colt Anaconda, now also blued
As already seen for the Python series, here comes the new – but timeless – blued finish for the Colt Anaconda revolvers chambered in .44 Magnum. (The Anaconda is also available in .45 Colt.) The six-shot Anaconda revolver series actually utilizes an oversized Python action and until now it was available in stainless steel or in matte finish only. The new blued Anacondas will be available with 4", 6" and 8" barrel lengths. Still like the Colt Python series, the blued Anaconda can also be upgraded with the optics-ready plates designed to seamlessly integrate with your Colt revolvers for quick and easy red dot sight installation. The plates are compatible with popular red dot optics, featuring the Shield RMSc and Holosun 507k footprints, providing you with the flexibility to choose your ideal sighting system. Installation is straightforward, as each plate attaches securely to your revolver using the rear sight hole and screws for a solid and reliable fit.
9mm CZ 75 Legend, celebrating a classic
The CZ 75 is one of the modern pistols that has most influenced the individual pistol market, ushering the age of the "Wonder Nines", i.e. high-capacity 9mm handguns with DA/SA trigger. Designed more than half a century ago as a military pistol, its ingenious design has never been copyrighted and this has meant that it has been taken up by gun manufacturers in every corner of the world, giving rise to endless variations. At the CZ booth we could try out the "Legend", a new celebratory version of the original Model 75 made to mark its first 50th anniversary which replicates down to the smallest details the iconic pistol exactly as it left the production line in the 1970s. We couldn't pass up the chance to try it out.
Diamondback SDR-A, carry revolver in .38 Special +P

Chambered for .38 Special +P with a cylinder capacity of six rounds, it has a 2”/50 mm long barrel.
