New Savage 110 Trophy Series, essential and rugged hunting rifles

Designed in the late 1950s, the Model 110 rifle is still the flagship of Savage Arms rifle lineup, especially with the introduction of the new 110 Trophy Series: composed of four rifles and engineered for “hardworking hunters”, the focus here is on rugged reliability and no-frills perfomance. At the core of the 110 Trophy series is a redesigned flat dark gray Trophy stock featuring Savage’s Quick Set Dial (QSD) system and an upgraded corrosion-resistant finish. The Trophy stock enables toolless length-of-pull adjustment for quick customization; the finish, applied to both action and barrel, is offered in Cerakote or stainless steel depending on the model. Four model are available:110 Trail Blazer, 110 Trail Blazer XP, 110 Ridge Hunter and 110 Carbon Hunter. All 110 Trophy come with user-adjustable AccuTrigger, detachable box magazine and LimbSaver recoil pad with 50% recoil reduction. Below, we delve in more detail on each model's features.

110 Trail Blazer

The Savage 110 Trail Blazer
The Savage 110 Trail Blazer features a heavy sporter, straight-fluted carbon-steel barrel. All Trophy models come with a flat dark gray Trophy Stock with LOP adjustment.

The 110 Trail Blazer represents the performance-first foundation of the Trophy Series. It pairs practical adjustability with a Black Ink Cerakoted barreled action for enhanced corrosion resistance. Distinctive to this model is its heavy sporter, straight-fluted carbon-steel barrel – ranging from 16.5 to 20 inches in length, depending on chambering – designed to balance rigidity and weight for consistent accuracy. A threaded muzzle and one-piece 0 MOA rail expand optics and muzzle device compatibility, while a jeweled bolt body contribute to smooth cycling. No less than 22 chamberings – the broadest caliber selection in the lineup – and left-hand configurations are available. MSRP in the US ranges from $719 to $759.

110 Trail Blazer XP

Savage 110 Trail Blazer XP
The Savage 110 Trail Blazer XP version adds a factory-mounted and bore-sighted Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope.

The 110 Trail Blazer XP builds directly on the Trail Blazer platform but distinguishes itself as a fully equipped, hunt-ready package. The defining feature is the factory-mounted and bore-sighted Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope, eliminating the need for additional setup before heading into the field. The 110 Trail Blazer XP is available in 20 popular calibers. This configuration comes with a higher MSRP range of $909 to $959.

110 Ridge Hunter

Purpose-built for maneuverability, the 110 Ridge Hunter features a  medium-contour barrel and  factory iron sights.

Where the Trail Blazer emphasizes versatility across chamberings, the 110 Ridge Hunter is purpose-built for maneuverability in thick cover and close-encounter scenarios. Its matte-finish stainless-steel action and medium-contour barrel – which  further differentiates the Ridge Hunter from the Trail Blazer and Trail Blazer XP – prioritize durability and balance. Unlike the other models in the series, the Ridge Hunter incorporates factory iron sights and feeds from AICS-pattern detachable magazines. Available in 12 calibers – including newer options such as .300 HAM’R and .338 ARC – and offered in both right- and left-hand configurations across all chamberings, the Ridge Hunter is tailored for hunters who prioritize compact performance. MSRP ranges from $899 to $939.

110 Carbon Hunter

110 Carbon Hunter
A carbon fiber–wrapped barrel, offered in 18- or 20-inch lengths depending on cartridge, is the defining feature of the 110 Carbon Hunter.

At the top of the lineup sits the 110 Carbon Hunter, the premium expression of the Trophy series. The highlight is its threaded carbon fiber–wrapped barrel, offered in 18- or 20-inch lengths depending on cartridge. Lightweight and finished with a Blackout Cerakoted action, the Carbon Hunter combines advanced materials with refined aesthetics. A one-piece 0 MOA rail is also part of the package. Six cartridge offerings are available, including left-hand configurations all with an MSRP of $1,149.
