ThermTec Hunt Pro, new and improved thermal imaging clip-ons

The improvements to the ThermTec Hunt Pro center on the revised image processing. As with its predecessor, the device is controlled via an intuitive control panel.

ThermTec has introduced a new thermal imaging clip-on device, the Hunt Pro, which features extensive technical changes compared to the previous series. There are basically three different models: the Hunt 335 Pro, Hunt 635 Pro and Hunt 650 Pro. The main difference between the models lies in the sensor and the objective lens (see table below for details). The Hunt Pro has been specially developed for use by hunters, outdoor enthusiasts and professional users. The focus is on revised image processing, which is based on a thermal sensitivity of ≤15 mK and an OLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels at 4.5 μm. According to the manufacturer, the aim is to enable better detail accuracy even in difficult weather conditions. This is complemented by an AI-supported calibration system that can reduce shutter frequency for a long time by "learning" and is designed to deliver consistent image quality by minimising image freezing using self-learning algorithms.

ThermTec Hunt Pro: modular use thanks to 2-in-1 design

Once removed from the riflescope, the ThermTec Hunt Pro can also be used as a monocular thanks to its modular 2-in-1 design.
The battery of the ThermTec Hunt Pro is replaceable and lasts for 6 to 7 hours, depending on the model.

Another key feature of the Hunt Pro is its modular 2-in-1 design, which allows quick conversion from a clip-on device to a monocular. No tools are required to switch between operating modes. The device is equipped with replaceable and rechargeable batteries, each of which enables an operating time of up to seven hours, depending on the model. The housing is made of a lightweight magnesium alloy with a resistant surface coating, resulting in a total weight of 399 g. This design is intended to ensure durability even under demanding conditions without compromising the balance of the gun/optics/thermal imaging combo or the handling.

In addition, the device is claimed to offer precise click adjustment with an adjustment accuracy of 1.1 cm at 100 metres. It is compatible with day optics up to a magnification of 16x and should therefore allow flexible use over different distances. ThermTec emphasises that the Hunt Pro is not just a successor model, but a fundamental technical advancement designed for a wide range of applications.
