ZEISS Victory HT - The brightest targeting optics in the world?

The transmission rate is reported to be up to 95%. Thanks to special HT lenses by Schott and innovative glass cutting, it is 2-3% well above its competitors. What this means in real life, must first be shown in a test - these technical parameters only play a minor role in driven hunts.

However, a comparison with ZEISS Varipoint (transmission 90 %) immediately reveals that the illuminated dot is truly bright and sharp - whether the 5% more in transmission is "visible" in practice at first glance remains to be seen.

In any case, target detection should always be perfectly achieved with the new model. Also the new, illuminated reticle 54 for the model 1.1-4x24 is on the cutting edge: A fast shot is also guaranteed with switched-off dot because a cross for targeting is available alongside the thin thread. Zeiss claims that the ultra-small illuminated dot is a benchmark for targeting optics.

Ergonomics have also been further improved, so that users with large hands can operate the adjustments better. Rubber-coated surfaces ensure a good fit. The focus is centrally placed in the middle. ZEISS speaks of intuitive and high-precision operation - and we pretty much agree.

Zeiss Victory HT
Targeting optics installed on the weapon

With its matt black aluminium body, the surface design of Victory HT series by ZEISS has a noble look. Thanks to the sleek eyepiece, which allows flat mounting on the weapon, rifle and scope almost merge into a single unit.

Especially with poor visibility, these are ideal conditions for a safe hit. However, the other models of the HT series are certainly better equipped to prove their worth "until the last ray of light". Whether ZEISS is able to meet its promise of "the brightest lenses of all times" remains to be seen. In any case, the new Victrory HT series is a good deal - also the entry-level model for driven hunts.

In short you can read at all4shooters.com about a first practical test of the version 3-12x56.

Here the new ZEISS optics will demonstrate whether a transmission rate of 95% is truly effective in twilight and darkness.
