Besides the high-end customized pistols based on the 1911 platform for which the US company is well-known among shooters and collectors alike, at IWA 2018 Nighthawk Custom showed the Tomahawk Pistol Grip Firearm. The latter is a compact, aggressive-looking shotgun based on a Remington 870 reduced to an overall length of just 26.1 in / 663 mm.
According to the manufacturer, it's the “answer for your self-defense needs”. It's a powerful little package indeed, with a capacity of 12 ga. 5+1 rounds.
Tomahawk Pistol Grip Firearm: attention to detail
The Tomahawk Pistol Grip Firearm has been built to insure maximum reliability and smooth function, with the usual Nighthawk Custom's extreme attention to detail. It sports a Hogue overmolded pistol grip and forend, a Vang Comp backbore and barrel porting system that helps minimize recoil, plus a hand honed action with a black Cerakote rust resistant finish. The tubular magazine is tipped with a 1-shot machined, solid billet extension tube to match barrel length.
Everything here is design with maneuverability and tactical efficiency in mind. Among the other features, a 4-round side saddle for extra ammo, a front bead sight and the big button tactical safety.
As is often the case with Nighthawk products, the price tag is not very light at 1,395 USD, but it's what you can expect for such a specialized high-level weapon.
