Of the various Caesar Guerini over/under sporting shotguns on show at the IWA 2017, the Summit Black Ascent Sporting is particularly worthy of note.
IWA 2017: Caesar Guerini Summit Black Ascent Sporting 12-gauge
This 12-gauge shotgun is very well-balanced for the shooter, as the 12 mm-high conical rib has been designed to be the perfect match for the DTS Monte Carlo stock. The “DTS” stock has a multidirectional comb that can be adjusted in seven micrometric directions.
There’s also a cut-out inside the stock for the DTS Kinetic Balancer, which uses a system of three 40 gram counterweights and two springs to absorb recoil, letting you customise the balance of the gun. The recently revisited, laser-cut hand-finished engraving really makes the central Caesar Guerini gold logo stand out on the blued steel action.

The fine, oil-finished woods are just as elegant as the action milled from solid block.
The adjustable stock has a solid rubber butt pad, while the round forend has a release button at the end, which is the same blued colour as the action. The trigger mechanism is a single selective system with an adjustable gilt trigger.
The Caesar Guerini maxisbore barrels have a special internal geometry and an extended forcing cone that keeps the shot spherical, increasing the speed and compactness of the pattern. The Summit Black is available with 76 and 81 cm barrels, and comes with a set of eight interchangeable external maxischokes.
The firing pins are spring-loaded on spiral, preloaded, constant-effect springs and have a double sear, so if the first is accidentally damaged you know you can still trust your gun to fire every time The ejectors are automatic and activated by a cam milled from a solid block. The weight of the Summit Black Ascent Sporting is approximately 3.7 kg, but depends on the length of the barrels.
