In the last months the guys at Ruger have shown that they don't know how to stay idle, introducing a lot of new products or variants of already existing models. Now it's the turn of a rimfire rifle designed scaling down a centerfire rifle: the .22 LR Precision Rimfire Rifle.
Features of the Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle
Presented by the manufacturer as the ideal long-range shooting trainer, the Ruger Precision Rimfire is a scaled down version of the centerfire Ruger Precision Rifle. It maintains the same ergonomics, trigger and manual of arms of its big brother, featuring a molded, one-piece chassis and adjustable buttstock assembly manufactured from glass-filled nylon. Pull and comb height can be quickly and easily adjusted thanks to the innovative Quick-Fit adjustable stock. Another interesting feature is the Big-Gun adjustable bolt throw technology that allows shooters to change from a rimfire 1-1/2" bolt throw to a short-action centerfire 3" bolt throw by simply removing a spring clip. This reduces the chance of short-stroking the bolt in competition.
The 18 in / 457 mm target barrel is cold hammer-forged from 1137 alloy steel and equipped with 1/2"-28 thread pattern for muzzle devices. The free-float, anodized aluminum handguard has Magpul M-LOK slots on all four sides for improved scope clearance and easy mounting of M-LOK-compatible rails and accessories. An anodized Picatinny scope base includes 30 MOA elevation for increased long-range capabilities out of the box.
Ruger offers two configurations of its Precision Rimfire Rifle, one shipping with a 15-round BX-15 magazine and the other with two, 10-round BX-1 magazines. The Precision Rimfire Rifle also accepts all Ruger's 10/22 rifle magazines.
Both configurations come at a suggested retail price of 529 USD.
