GAMO Outdoor Swarm Maxxim air rifle in 4,5 mm and 5,5 mm

Multi-shot break action air rifles have been around for a while – they have been entertaining old and young at your local fun fair shooting gallery. This new air rifle introduced by GAMO, the Spanish industry leader when it comes to powerful air guns for sports and hunting, has not much in common with the old carnival game models.

GAMO USA releases the Swarm Maxxim in two different calibers, .177 (4,5mm) and .22 (5,5mm). Especially the latter version with its muzzle energy of approx. 40J is more than suitable for hunting small pests and varmints but are also suitable to plinking and informal target shooting. We got to shoot both at the Industry Day of the SHOT Show 2017 and they were a breeze to shoot.

Properties of the GAMO Swarm Maxxim air rifle

The break action air rifle boasts all-metal parts as well as a black synthetic stock. The patented 10 round magazine includes a shot counter. It is easy to change and won`t come loose, even when cocking rapidly.

The Swarm Maxxim uses GAMO’s IGT System. This “Inert Gas Technology” utilizes a gas ram instead of the traditional main spring thus reducing moving mass and enabling high performance while still being effortless to cock.

The GAMO Swarm Maxxim furthermore boasts an SWA (Shock Wave Absorber) butt cap that reduces felt recoil by up to 74% as well as an adjustable CA (Custom Action) trigger.

The air rifle weighs in at 2,5kg and is 115cm long. MRSP stands at $250 for the USA, a price for the European market has not been released yet.
