Browning had already entered the semi-custom rifle segment in 2017 with the X-Bolt Pro. This year it is the turn of the Long Range model, which features a longer and heavier-profile barrel to ensure maximum accuracy over long distances. What classifies the X-Bolt Long Range in 6.5mm Creedmore as a "semi custom rifle” is the level of specialized finishing touches and higher-end construction above the already very high industrial standard of the X-Bolt family of hunting rifles. The full carbon fiber wrap stock – extremely lightweight but also very rigid – stands out. The stock is filled with a noise-dampening synthetic foam.
Browning X-Bolt Pro Long Range rifle: features
Barrel and action sport a Cerakote anti-corrosion coating, also extended to the butt plate for added protection. The burnt bronze hue of the metal parts matches the mute color of the stock, making the weapon easy to conceal.
The barrel features a lapping process developed by Browning that ensures maximum accuracy and makes it easier to clean the bore, saving precious time during maintenance. Other highlights of the X-Bolt Pro Long Range are the spiral fluted bolt and the oversized bolt handle. The action is in stainless steel, with glass bedding and ready to mount rings for X-Mount optics. The bolt lift is 60°.
The trigger is fully adjustable. The 26 in / 610 mm long barrel is free-floating, with a "Heavy Sporter" profile, lapped and with a handmade cartridge chamber. The muzzle is threaded for muzzle brakes or, where permitted, sound suppressors. The second-generation carbon fiber stock has checkered grip surfaces and is fitted with an Inflex recoil pad, typical of the latest Browning rifles.
The price of the X-Bolt Pro Long Range rifle is 2099.99 USD, or 1708 euro approx.
