Since its founding in 2008, the company SilencerCo from Utah has become one of the largest American manufacturers of silencers. The product range includes a wide array of accessories for short and long weapons, but the focus is on "suon suppression".
The prototype of this striker fired lightweight pistol with integral sound suppressor could already be seen last year at the SilencerCo booth - now the manufacturer has unveiled the final and functional version.

The SilencerCo Maxim 9 is the first ever handgun to come with a built-in silencer that can take every kind of 9 mm cartridge, and be carried in a holster. Designed for the military and the police, the Maxim 9 sells for a reasonable price: approximately 1,500 USD.
The Maxim 9 is the answer to a problem often found by an operator who needs a handgun for special ops and is forced to choose between a compact but very noisy gun, or having to screw on a long silencer, significantly increasing the length and bulkiness of the weapon.
The Maxim 9 solves this problem with its built-in silencer, giving the operator the advantage of being able to carry a medium-large handgun (that is nevertheless easy to handle) that also silences the noise of the shot. The most compact version of the Maxim 9 in fact is just 10 inches (25 cm) long and offers the greatest silencing efficiency when loaded with subsonic ammo.
Chambered for 9x19 ammunition, the Maxim 9 has a fixed 10 cm or 11,5 cm long 1:10 rifle barrel, a double-action trigger with a striker-fired mechanism, and it’s designed to be used just as easily by right or left-handed operators. It takes Glock 17 and Glock 30 magazines.
