With its striking faceted slide complete with side windows, front & rear cocking serrations, and a lightened and stylized dustcover rail the newly-released Nighthawk Custom Agent 2 is – no doubt – a gun that does not go unnoticed. Yet, under the modern and hyper-engineered look it's still a solid forged-frame 1911-type pistol chambered both in .45 ACP and 9mm Luger.
Nighthawk Custom is already known to gun-enthusiasts for its less-than-usual hand-crafted products. The new Agent 2 is the result of collaboration between this company, Agency Arms, Railscales, and Hillbilly 223, the same partnership that in 2017 had already produced the equally sleek and ultra-designed Agent 1 pistol. The Agent 2 can be considered the latter's evolution, pushing even further the venerable 1911 platform.
Nighthawk Custom Agent 2 Pistol: striking details
Nighthawk Custom claims that its guns are “meticulously crafted and designed down to the last detail”.
This craftsmanship and attention to detail can be seen in the matching texture on front and back Strap, the one-piece mainspring housing/magwell, the futuristic railscales G10 grips and the ultra hi-cut front strap.
The already mentioned faceted slide with side windows is the “Urban Combat” slide produced by Agency Arms.
The trigger has also been updated to a variation on the Agency Arms Flat Faced Trigger with an enhanced toe. The grip safety, thumb safety, and slide stop continue the faceted flat edged profile. All metal surfaces are coated with a Battle Worn Cerakote Finish.
Aesthetics is not everything, anyway: emphasis here is on function and effectiveness. That's why the Agent 2 pistols also sports a match grade semi-crowned flush-cut barrel and is equipped with a Nighthawk fiber optic front sight and a Heinie Ledge black rear sight. Noticeable is also the extended, faceted, and angled magazine catch. The rail allows for mounting of standard lights and lasers.
The Agent 2 is available in .45 ACP and 9mm Luger. Nighthawk Custom is already taking orders, with shipments scheduled in early February and a recommended retail price of 4.495 USD / 3.667 Euro approx.
