Magnum Research, Inc. – a Kahr Firearms Group company – is showcasing several new incarnations of the Company's own, legendary Desert Eagle pistol, now long being 100% manufactured in the United States after having been made under license in Israel for a long time.
Handling has always been an issue with the big Desert Eagles. The new Desert Eagle L models are about 350 grams lighter than their standard counterpart. That's a big improvement for the handling of the pistol.
The L5 being chambered in .357 Magnum and feeding through 9-rounds magazines, while the L6 model fires the .50 Action Express round and uses a 7-shots magazine – are slightly lightened and shortened variants of the design, featuring an integrated compensator to reduce recoil and muzzle climb due to the heavy caliber: the Desert Eagle L5 is just over 25 centimetres long, while the L6 is around 27 centimetres long.
Last, but not least, the classic Desert Eagle Mark XIX .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum pistol is now finally available in a full stainless steel construction model, featuring steel frame, slide, barrel and rails – all accented with attractive black appointments. Both models have a 6” barrel and have an integral muzzle brake which will replace the add-on brake which Magnum Research offered for a number of years.
