Maria Gushchina first stepped into the limelight of the IPSC community in 2011, when she – at the time still a junior – came home with the title in the ladies’ Production Division at the World Shoot XVI in Greece, which at the time was a true sensation. Her contribution to the team title in the Production Division, which the Russian women secured with the Muscovite in their ranks, neatly rounded off her success. Since then she has been an established name on the IPSC tour.
Her endorsement of the GECO brand has provided her with a reliable and innovative ammunition partner since 2012. Maria primarily uses GECO 9 mm Luger 8 g VM cartridges, which have helped her continually improve her performance over recent years. Indeed, Maria has remained practically unbeaten in the last three years of competition, and the consistency of her outstanding performances is truly remarkable. Besides the numerous other victories that have since come almost automatically, she scooped the title of European Champion in the ladies’ Production Division in 2013.

The world championship titles numbers three and four are the crowning glories in her still young career. Maria provided a spectacular lesson in dominance while securing the title in the ladies’ Production Division at the World Shoot 2014 in Frostproof, Florida.
Her lead was simply astonishing, coming in over 10 percentage points ahead of the second placed shooter, Christine Burkhalter from Switzerland. She defended her title once more as part of the Russian line-up in this year’s team competition and, as if her predominant position required any further emphasis, also claimed victory in the Ladies’ Production Division. Maria stayed true to her trusty GECO 9 mm ammunition in Florida. The GECO Team extends its heartfelt congratulations for these fantastic victories and looks forward to many additional titles with GECO ammunition.
