Mostly known to the general public for its extensive airsoft and airgun production lines, the German-based Umarex company also offers a dedicated line of non-lethal self-defense products, which are extremely sought-after and popular all through Europe, although with the due differences from Country to Country depending from the legal status of some of those.
Some of the new Umarex Defense products for the year 2016 are already in distribution; others will be launched before June. In the meanwhile, enjoy the video and feel free to read and download the 2016 Umarex defense products catalogue, listing all the new entries!
"The most powerful handgun in the world" – that's how the Smith & Wesson Model 29 in .44 Magnum caliber became a (movie) legend. Now Umarex brings a CO2 replica of the classic revolver with original license. We took a closer look at the air gun and tell you whether movie fans and revolver fans alike could have fun with the Umarex S&W M29.
With better ergonomics, higher velocity (1075 fps vs. 880 fps in .22 cal. / 985 fps vs. 890 fps in .25 cal) and higher tank capacity, the new Gauntlet 2 also can shoot as many as 70 or more shots in .22 caliber and over 50 in .25 cal. Designed for hunting, precision shooting and plinking, it also features an adjustable precision stock and a 4-baffle silencer.
For 2021 Umarex introduces an officially licensed blank-firing replica of the GLOCK 17 Gen5. With the same dimensions of the original, the new GLOCK 17 Gen5 9mm P.A.K. is exact in every detail, so that it's even compatible with GLOCK's original iron sights and the slide cover plate can be replaced with aftermarket plates.
Umarex continues to follow the path of CO2-powered home defense guns. After the revolver, it's the turn of a pump-action shotgun in .68 caliber. In the full power version, the ball reaches 40 joules at the muzzle.
SHOT Show 2020 / New from Umarex: AirSaber and AirJavelin arrow rifles. Umarex unveils two rifles that shoot arrows instead of pellets. The first is a bolt action pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle, the second is CO2 powered. They also propose the new Walther Reign UXT pre-charged pneumatic rifle.
Introducing a very particular gun that can be freely purchased: it’s a revolver that fires rubber balls with a diameter of half an inch (1.27 cm) powered by a CO2 cartridge. The manufacturer offers it as a tool for home defense, but it's also a lot of fun for informal target shooting.
IWA 2017 / New by UMAREX: CO2 pistols, LED flashlights and tactical knives. UMAREX arrived at the IWA 2017 in Nürnberg with a whole passel full of new products straight out of the factory. With over 200 new introductions, we will have to focus on a few highlights.
SHOT Show 2017 / New from UMAREX: the ammunition line ARX. UMAREX USA used the US weapons expo to present innovative ammunition in a variety of calibers for muzzleloaders. The polymer/copper blend is enclosed in a plastic sabot that guides the bullet through the barrel.
