The Mauser history
The Mauser Company history dates back to the 1870s, when the Mauser brothers, Paul and Wilhelm, designed the Mauser Model 1871 rifle, the first metal cartridge military weapon of the German Empire, adopted as the Gewehr 71 or Infanterie-Gewehr 71. The Mauser company also developed the famous Gewehr 98 and Karabiner 98k rifle series, which were used by the German armies in both World Wars.

Mauser rifles and pistols
Between the 1890s and the 1940s Mauser Company also produced several different pistol designs, starting in 1896 with the C96, commonly known as "broomhandle". Other Mauser pistols were the 1910 and 1914 pocket pistols, the Model 1934 pocket pistol.
