Bolt-action rifles

F.lli Piotti, manufacturers of elegant guns for 50 years, enchant us with their unique, personalized and perfect shotguns and rifles. Here are some of their new models for 2018 that were also presented at IWA in Nuremberg last march. 

The STR (Sabatti Tactical Rifle) is an all-Italian weapon intended for "field" use: very accurate and enjoyable at the shooting range, it can be used with great satisfaction even when hunting.

With the 557 model series, CZ has taken a big leap into the 21st century. These mid-market repeating rifles have an unmatched quality/price ratio and embody the Czech company's great attention to those with more traditional tastes.

The Scout Rifle series adds a new powerful chambering. The .450 Bushmaster version features a stainless steel finish, a lightweight synthetic stock and a conspicuous muzzle brake to reduce recoil and blast.

It is not always necessary to add features and details to propose something interesting. The Spanish company Bergara knows this well and this year it introduced an essential but interesting hunting rifle, the B-14 Ridge.

IWA 2018 / New from Voere: S16 & K15A rifles. The Austrian manufacturer of precision and hunting rifles showcases the new S16 bolt-action rifle and its “small brother”, the K15A match-grade rimfire model. A unique version with integrated suppressor was presented as well. 

At IWA 2018 CZ exhibited its products, ranging from handguns to hunting rifles and accessories. CZ also created its IWA 2018 “top five”: some are new products and others new versions of already well-known models. Here is an overview of CZ's “top five” products that we saw in Nuremberg.

IWA 2018 / New from Ruger: Precision Rimfire Rifle. A new product from the Southport-based Company, this .22 LR rimfire rifle with a molded, one-piece chassis is a scaled down version of Ruger's centerfire Precision Rifle.

The specialist exhibition for law enforcement, police equipment, security and tactical solutions took place in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 7-8. Here are some highlights about the products and novelties we saw there.

Enforce Tac and IWA 2018 / New from Steyr Mannlicher: SSG M1. The renown austrian manufacturer Steyr Mannlicher surprises Enforce Tac 2018 attendees with the multi-caliber sniper platform SSG M1 in .338 Lapua Magnum and .308 Win. We show some of the attributes of this modern precision rifle here.  

ENFORCE TAC and IWA 2018 / New from Sako: TRG 22 and 42 A1 rifles. The TRG rifle is the flagship of the Finnish company in the tactical-sniper segment. Let's take a look at the most recent evolution of this model dedicated to extreme long range shooting.

SHOT Show 2018 / New from CZ: the CZ 557 Left-Hand. From the Czech Company, a .30-06 rifle specifically designed for left-handed hunters. Among its features, a cold hammer-forged and lapped barrel and an adjustable trigger. The CZ 557 Left-Hand is also equipped with integral 19mm dovetails for mounting a scope.

SHOT Show 2018 / New from Tikka: T1x rimfire rifle. The Finnish Company proposes the T1x, a bolt action rifle in .22 Long Rifle or .17 HMR with very interesting features - with all due respect to those who think that rimfire calibers are now dead.

SHOT Show 2018 / New from Franchi: Momentum rifle. After the Horizon, introduced for the first time last year at the HIT Show, Franchi redoubles with the Momentum, a hunting rifle available in different calibers and with a very particular stock. It is also available with Burris optics fitted as standard.

SHOT Show 2018 / New from Sako: 85 Finnlight II rifle. Available in a wide range of calibers, the  85 Finnlight II also features a cheekpiece that can be adjusted by simply pressing a button in the stock.

SHOT Show 2018 / New from Bergara: the Premier Approach bolt action rifle. The rifle introduced by Bergara at the Show features a coated stainless steel barrel with Cerakote finish and an interestingly designed plastic stock. Here are the features and technical data of the Bergara Approach.
