The development addressed requests and feedback from numerous customers to create a top-of-the-class firearm affordable to everyone. The MHR16 is designed to be functional, practical and aesthetically appealing.
Based upon a hammer-forged receiver, the MHR 16 spots a direct trigger and a three position safety not just allowing for safe setting with locked chamber as well as a firing mode but also for the possibility to remove a round from the chamber while having the rifle remain on safe.
The MHR 16 is equipped with Savage mounting bases for the attachment of optics and utilizes an ambidextrous magazine release just in front of the trigger guard.
The MHR 16 is being offered in two different versions. They only differ in the stock material used with the synthetic stock weighing in at 6 lbs 9,8 oz. with the walnut stock a little bit heavier at 7lbs 4,4oz.
Both versions are manufactured in a cornucopia of calibers, standard as well as magnum: .243 Win., 6.5x55, .270 Win., .308 Win., .30-’06 Sprg., 9.3x62, .300 Win. Mag. as well as 7 Rem. Mag.
The recommended manufacturer’s price starts at $799 for the synthetic version of the MHR 16. For this price, the rifle is an absolute bargain for beginners - because MERKEL USA also offers rifles for about $ 24.000,-.
