Digiscoping is a term that describes taking photographs with a digital camera through the eyepiece of a telescope or binoculars. Breathtaking images of natural landscapes or close-up animal portraits are possible using this technique, and even videos are included under the term digiscoping.
Swarovski Optik organizes a digiscoping competition each year. This will be the 11TH DIGISCOPER OF THE YEAR event. It is easy to enter and to compete for the fantastic prizes: Simply upload your photos or videos to the Swarovski website by September 30, 2016.
You will find the full conditions of participation at http://www.digiscoperoftheyear.com/en/termsandconditions. We’ve summarized the most important aspects in the following:
- Anyone aged 18 and above is eligible to enter
- You are allowed to use digital cameras, video cameras and smartphones of all kinds, as well as commercially available telescopes and binoculars
- Only animal images of live animals in their natural habitats are permitted. Do not submit images of animals in captivity (zoos, pens).
The abundance of nature captivates us all with its variety and uniqueness, which is why there are four topical categories from which to select. Your images must satisfy the criteria in the respective category.
The four categories for Digiscoper of the Year 2016 are:
- Movement & Action
- Portrait & Macro
