The Pulsar Accolade thermal binocular line was introduced at the Las Vegas SHOT Show just a couple months ago, and already Pulsar introduces a laser range finding version that features a 1000m maximum measurable range at this edition of the IWA trade show in Nuremberg.
Features of the thermal imaging binoculars Accolade LRF
The integration of the laser range finder module in the Accolade family of thermal devices is very successful, both technically and esthetically: the module is completely self-contained within the binoculars’ frame, resulting in a very streamlined and elegant design that is both ergonomic and practical.
The LRF module appears to be the same that is already used in the Trail LRF thermal range finding riflescope, and only adds 100g to the binoculars, increasing the weight of both available models from 600g to 700g.
The two models available, the Accolade LRFXQ38 and LRFXP50, differ in the resolution of the thermal sensor used and focal length of the fast, f: 1,2 germanium objective lens; a resolution of 384x288 and 640x480, both with a pixel pitch of 17 μm and a focal length of 38 mm and 50 mm, respectively.
The microdisplays used in the Accolade are two OLED units with a 640x480 resolution. The eyepieces are also adjustable for interpupillary distance. For the rest, the technical features are the same as the Accolade XQ38 and XP50 models, introduced at the Shot Show.
Prices have not been disclosed at this time. The introduction on the market is indicatively scheduled for mid-2018.
