Fabarm has introduced its  L4S Sporting, 12-gauge semi-automatic target shotgun, the latest (for now) version of a fairly large family. This model features a shortened magazine with four round capacity to reduce the length of the fore-end for improved balance. Balance is in fact one of its best qualities, together with optimal weight distribution.

Combining innovative design features, the L4S has some interesting technical solutions: the L4S does not have an action spring in the stock - the spring is on the magazine tube - and attaches with a simple stock bolt. This feature allows to sculpt the pistol grip to adapt to any need and personal settings. The action is shorter than guns made to function up to 3 ½" cartridges, further enhancing the handling characteristics, since the L4S is designed for 2 ¾" target loads.

The stock is protected by a tough scratch-resistant semi-gloss acrylic varnish, while the frame finish is black anodized.

The stock in European walnut is a larger target version (with a combination of checkering and stippling on its gripping surfaces) and the fore-end design is peculiar too: it does not rely on wood to be part of the mechanical assembly of the gun. This removes all wiggle and movement in the fore-end. Additionally, it makes the barrel to receiver relationship more precise and stronger while eliminating the forces that can damage and crack the wood.

The 2¾-inch chambered barrel feature Fabarms' Tribore tapered bore, Exis HP hyperbolic choke system and tapered top rib. The 30-inch barrel features a hyperbolic tapered bore to enhance pattern uniformity while increasing pellet velocity. The result is clay crushing performance with low recoil. All of the controls are extended competition style for better function. With a weight of 7 lbs 3 oz, this shotgun has an extremely mild recoil, which is due to a gas system accurately tuned for target loads.

The stock sports a Triwood finish, a special process that enhances the grain of the European walnut stock and provides a high level of water resistance. The stock is also protected by a tough scratch-resistant semi-gloss acrylic varnish. The frame finish is black anodized.

A special red anodized cap secures the fore-end preventing unwanted movement or damage to the wood stock. Together with the red anodized finish on the mag cap, bolt handle and closer, it's an eye-catching cosmetic detail that helps to tell this interesting shotgun apart. The L4S is available in left and right hand eject models.

Prices start at 1,850 US dollars (RRP as of June 27, 2017).
