Beretta A-400 XPlor Action

The new Beretta A400 XPlor Action represents the quintessential evolution of the A400 XPlor series of Beretta semi-automatic shotguns; featuring all the best qualities that made the A400 series such a success, the XPlor Action is a semi-automatic shotgun that may be used with absolute confidence regardless of game, ammunition, target or season. The gunʼs versatility is increased thanks to the integral optics mount grooves on the receiver. But more important, from now on, with the A400 XPlor Action, itʼs the... shotgun that counts.

The “GunPod”, housed in the pistol grip pad, counts the fired shots and acts as both a thermometer and an ammo performances comparator

The Beretta A400 XPlor Action comes factory-equipped with a multifunctional electronic device housed in the pistol grip cap; called the GunPod, the device feeds through a removable commercial battery and allows the user to count the total shots fired (in not-resettable mode), make a partial shots count (up to 7 resettable sessions), measure the outside temperature in °C and °F modes and test the fired ammunitions to evaluate their performances in groups of two or more, even when the tested ammunition share the same loads. As revolutionary as it is, the GunPod will work even with a discharged battery, or without a battery at all.

Berettaʼs patented “KickOff” recoil reduction system works much as an automotive shock absorber, providing -60% felt recoil if compared with rubber components-based competitors

The A400 XPlor Action shotgun also features the Beretta-patented Kick-Off recoil reduction system, the only one in the world to uses two hydraulic dampeners very similar to those used in the automotive industry, while the competitors are simply based on the deformation of soft materials like rubber, polyurethane or polymer inserts. Furthermore, the Kick-Off system comes coupled with the Micro-Core, an innovative recoil pad developed by Beretta after its decades of competitive shooting experiences and feedback worldwide. Using an open-cell polymer construction which results softer, lighter and more slippery than rubber, Micro-Core expands gradually and instantly, increasing its surface area on the shoulder and giving the shotgun secure and precise support.

The “Blink” action and a new gas system mate in the A400 XPlor Action shotgun to provide the shooter with the quickest follow-up capabilities available

The mechanism of the A400 Xplor is a true jewel of engineering that distinguishes itself from all other systems on the market with its exceptional cycling speed. Featuring the fastest follow-up shooting capabilities, it dramatically increases the userʼs chances to hit the target, thanks to the Blink working system, an integration of the new Beretta gas system, the rotating bolt head lockup and a new feeding system. The new gas system features an innovative piston with elastic scraper band that also functions as a gasket. This makes the Blink system more powerful and much cleaner.

Berettaʼs patented “Steelium” manufacturing procedure is used to craft unique barrels out of a special tri-alloy steel of proprietary Beretta conception

Last but not least, the A400 XPlor Actionʼs barrels are produced following the Steelium patented procedure, that transforms the special tri-alloy steel into an exceptional barrel, also due to a manufacturing process that is just as unique. Thanks to the deep drilling, cold hammer forging, and to the special vacuum distension, the steel acquires the ideal characteristics to offer the best ballistic performance available today. Berettaʼs A400 XPlor Action barrels also feature the special Optima-Bore HP geometry, conceived to offer the best performance even with steel shots. The shot pattern remains perfect and uniform in every type of hunt, complemented by the use of the Optima-Choke HP choke tubes.
