Smith & Wesson announces new M&P10 sport rifle in .308 Win

Smith & Wesson’s M&P10 rifle family welcomes a new member, the M&P10 Sport Rifle chambered in .308 Win/7.62x51. The new rifle sports a gas block and an upper top with Picatinny rails and a 16" 4140 steel barrel with 5R Rifling, equipped with an A2 style suppressor.  Rifle twist is  1 in 10”.

Stock is a 6-position telescopic type, completed with a synthetic pistol grip and an A2 style round handguard.

For the joy of left handed shooters, safety selector, bolt release and magazine release are ambidextrous.


The firing pin is chromed for improved durability. Barrel finish (interior and exterior) is Armornite, a hardened nitride finish that according to manufacturer provides enhanced corrosion resistance, greatly improved wear resistance, decreased surface roughness, reduced light reflection and increased surface lubricity. Receiver is made of 7075 T6 aluminum with a hard-coat black anodized finish.


Stock is a 6-position telescopic type, completed with a synthetic pistol grip and an A2 style round handguard. Overall Length is 34.0" (863 mm), for a weight of 128.0 oz (3,628.7g). Being “optics ready”, out of the box the rifle has no rear or front sights.
